You need to take a big and small picture view of your situation.  In terms of the big picture ask yourself, what is most important to you?  If you don’t do something to make it better what will it cost you and others?  What is the easiest next step?

For the short term break your next steps into very practical and specific baby steps that are measurable.  Like, I will communicate what I need and want to my spouse and children.  Assess your progress each day, week and month.  Rate yourself on a scale of 1 to 10.  In fact ask others for feedback on how you are doing.

Get an accountability partner, coach or mentor to help you stay on track.

Ask yourself what is the worst that can happen?  If you can live with that then the best that can happen will come to you.  If you want to get past the ordinary you need to intensify your activities so the extraordinary can exist.

Kristine with kitty around age 5

Are they both cute or what?  Would you ever consider being cruel or harsh to these two pretties?  Kristine, a recent graduate of our seminar, Move Into Your Greatness shared this picture with me because I had asked her who treated you with TUL, Total Unconditional Love?  She said my kitty in this picture.

Unfortunately more people have received safe, unconditional love from a pet than they have people.  Is this true of you?

What are some of your favorite TUL moments you have had with a pet?  What about a TUL time with a person?    Would love to hear your stories.

Getting and giving the kind of love you need and want is really very simple.  When it is genuine and real it fills the soul with all the ingredients to brighten a person’s day.

So give TUL to someone today and watch what happens!

What qualities make up and effective leader?

There are numerous leadership styles, what works for you?

All leaders want to make a difference and be transformational. Some do and some really don’t. We’ve all known leaders that are easily replaced and forgettable, and hopefully we’ve known some that we can’t imagine doing without.

The difference begins with the bond we create by integrating who we are with what we do. Making a difference has a lot to do with how completely we integrate what we are (our character, values and attitudes) with what we do.

All leaders set direction, give orders, and display competence within their world. But if that’s all they’re doing, they’re expendable. What sets one leader apart from another?  What makes them compelling rather than coercive?  Is the kind of spirit that accompanies their actions a compelling what can I get from them approach or a slave type what can I give them approach. Either way, what makes us take notice is their authenticity or their uniqueness and effectiveness. Are they being themselves or are they trying to be something they’re not?

It is in the visible and tangible world that our unseen inner world is demonstrated. When we integrate our whole being, we create the potential for a deep meaning in our work, trust in those we lead and work with, and we establish our distinctiveness as a leader.

So what type of leader are you?

Anyone can display leadership qualities but it is how you utilize these qualities that makes you an unique and effective leader.  Unique leaders are more captivating and seem more sincere.

We can always improve on our leadership skills and continue to grow.
