Don’t Give up on Your Dreams

Posted by: Bill | Comments (0)

What are you dreams in life?

What did you want to be when you were younger?

Did you ever want to travel to an exotic land or learn a new trade but never did?

As we grow older in life, we tend to stop chasing our dreams.

We tell ourselves, “It’s too late”, but it’s not too late to continue to chase your dreams.  We are entitled as Americans to chase every dream we possess.  Even if you think you are too old to follow you dreams and the chance has passed you by, keep dreaming.  Whatever you dream may be, stay determined and inspired to make your dream a reality.

I was recently talking with someone who never shared his dreams with his family and friends.  He said he felt silly and irresponsible to be a mature adult and have a semi far fetched dream.  He wanted to get his pilot license.  Apparently as a kid, his Grandpa used to fly small planes and would take him up on flights.  He knew the basics of aviation but never pursued anything further.  He never told anyone this dream and kept it to himself.

I told him you should never stop pursuing your dreams.  Having a dream is a major factor in being happy.  A dream is something personal that may not mean a lot to other people, but means the world to you.  This is the beauty of having a dream.  If gives us a goal to work towards and the end result is happiness and enjoyment.

People can take time or money away from you, but they can never take your dreams away.  No matter how big or small your dream is, never give up.

Do You have Sleep Issues?

Posted by: Bill | Comments (0)

Many people today are struggling with sleep issues.

I was talking with someone who said they had a really hard problem with “shutting down” when it was time to go to sleep.  They couldn’t stop thoughts and worries from running through their head and it was causing them to stay up late at night.  This would obviously cause them to be tired the next day and not be able to accomplish what was needed for the next day.  They also weren’t a pleasant person to be around.  This person told me that they were so tired that they were mean to people and would “snap” easily at the smallest inconvenience.  This is a major problem because it is affecting their daily life and their interactions with people.

So how do we fix sleeping problems?  How do we make it easier to “shut down” at night and get a fulfilling nights rest.  Before you go to sleep, make a detailed list of what needs to be done for the next day, so you can stop worrying about things while trying to sleep.  This will also save you time in the morning because you will already have a detailed agenda in place.  Try and relax your mind and let everything go.  I know it is easier said than done, but if you continue to worry all the way up to the time you go to sleep, then you will have a hard time falling and staying asleep.  Try and pin-point the factors that are causing you to stay up.  What can you do to fix these problems?

We all need to “shut down” after a hard days work.  We need to take all the thoughts of the office and work and turn them off.  Concentrate solely on falling asleep.  Make where you sleep as comfortable and quite as possible.  Shutting down is very difficult for some, because they are so invested in their work.

Overall, you need to turn off all things that are hindering you from sleeping.  Turn off the outside world and concentrate only on falling asleep.

Do you have sleep issues?

What are some problems that have risen because of your sleep issues?

How open are you?

Posted by: Bill | Comments (0)

How open are you to new experiences and to people in general?

Being open to new experiences to some extent is important because you never want to limit yourself.  You never know what you will find if you keep an open mind.  You could discover new friendships that otherwise would of never existed.  Being open to new experiences could bring a new happiness into your life.  When you keep an open mind, you learn more through different experiences and you can draw many positive things from them.

Do you tend to not stray from the path?

Sometimes, taking the road less traveled can reveal so much.  If we don’t keep an open mind to new experiences and friendships, we are only hurting ourselves.  There is so much to be discovered even if we think we have seen it all.  The truth is, we haven’t seen it all.  We can always continue to grow and learn from our new beginnings.

If you find yourself being closed-minded, then try to open up a little.  Maybe step outside of your comfort zone and try something different.  Take a salsa dancing class, listen to a new genre of music, or simply be more open to the people around you.  Everyone has a story, and there are some great ones out there.  I like to take something out of every new situation I am in.  If I try something different, I try to learn from it.

So what are some good ways to open up a little bit?

Remember to always stay open, because you never know what you might learn.
