Creating Neoteony

Posted by: | Comments (0)

Creating neoteony in your life will bring an abundance of benefits. The term neoteony means maintaining playful, childlike but not childish, qualities all the days of your life.  Letting loose every once in awhile and enjoying all the beautiful things this world has to offer us is essential in maintaining a healthy life.  Creating more neoteony will keep you and those around you youthful and full of energy.  All of this powerful energy will make you less susceptible to becoming a breeding ground for negative emotions.  Your joyful and loving personality will become infectious to your family, friends, and co-workers.

Are you always stressed out because of work or family life?  We all get to a point in our lives where we just aren’t as happy as we would like to be.  If you are not as happy as you would like to be, try to have more fun in your daily life.  Once you begin to incorporate a personality full of joy and playfulness, you will become a happier person and value life more.  You will have a completely different outlook on things and eventually, start enjoying the activites you used to love to do again.  Your family will enjoy being around you more and in return build stronger relationships with them.  You notice your self transforming into a more pleasant person to be around, and those who spend a lot of time with you (friends, co-workers, etc.) will start to notice a difference.

There are many ways to create neoteony in your life.  It is going to take dedication, hard-work, and creativity on your part to come up with effective ways to create more joy and fun in you and your family’s lives.  You should start by finding or reigniting your passions.  What do you love to do?  What can you spend hours on without becoming bored?  Find these activities and engage yourself in them.  Also, you should learn what those around you are passionate about.  If your kids are really into science or history, then schedule a trip to a museum or zoo.  If your family is very active family, then take them on a hike or a bike ride on a cool summer night.  Become more active with your family and be engaging.  Throw out ideas of activities to do together and see if anything registers with them.  Offer to play a board game or watch a movie, anything is fine just make sure you are involved.  Take your spouse out for a special evening of dinner and dancing.  Do something you have never done before but always dreamed of.

There are so many ways to become more joyful and happier, we just need to dedicate ourselves to finding them.  Creating more neoteony in your life will go along way and create strong bonds with those you love.  So start today.  Become more playful and happy and see what happens.  We can all use more joy in today’s world.

Leave some comments on how you can create more neoteony in your life.

Have you ever met someone who thinks it is never their fault?

No matter how guilty they are, they always seem to pawn it off on someone or something else.  Unfortunately they are limiting themselves in their development.

The first step in changing your behavior and your way of life is taking responsibility.

A lot of times people believe everyone else is to blame, but them.  Everything is not entirely your fault all the time but you need to evaluate you behavior and see if maybe you are the one doing something wrong and take responsibility for your actions.

Only until people start to take responsibility for their actions they will not  see change in their lives.  Taking responsibility allows you to target the problem and gives you a chance a better start to fixing this problem.

I promise, once you become honest with yourself and realize that nobody is perfect, your life will become more abundant and you will feel happier.  You will make improvements in your relationships as a friend, co-worker, and family member.

We should all continue to better ourselves through personal development.  We need to fist target and accept our faults and then take responsibility for them.  Then we can work on altering the way you handle different situations and work on improving your relationships.

Leadership

What qualities make up and effective leader?

There are numerous leadership styles, what works for you?

All leaders want to make a difference and be transformational. Some do and some really don’t. We’ve all known leaders that are easily replaced and forgettable, and hopefully we’ve known some that we can’t imagine doing without.

The difference begins with the bond we create by integrating who we are with what we do. Making a difference has a lot to do with how completely we integrate what we are (our character, values and attitudes) with what we do.

All leaders set direction, give orders, and display competence within their world. But if that’s all they’re doing, they’re expendable. What sets one leader apart from another?  What makes them compelling rather than coercive?  Is the kind of spirit that accompanies their actions a compelling what can I get from them approach or a slave type what can I give them approach. Either way, what makes us take notice is their authenticity or their uniqueness and effectiveness. Are they being themselves or are they trying to be something they’re not?

It is in the visible and tangible world that our unseen inner world is demonstrated. When we integrate our whole being, we create the potential for a deep meaning in our work, trust in those we lead and work with, and we establish our distinctiveness as a leader.

So what type of leader are you?

Anyone can display leadership qualities but it is how you utilize these qualities that makes you an unique and effective leader.  Unique leaders are more captivating and seem more sincere.

We can always improve on our leadership skills and continue to grow.
