Are You Prepared for Change?

Have you ever resisted experiencing change?  Did you ever want things to stay the same?  Does change sometimes frighten you?

Change is one of the guarantees in life.  It is always with you.  Every moment contains change – change in nature, society, people, surroundings, temperature……you name it-change will happen!

Take a minute and become aware of all the changes occurring around you.  Look, listen and experience the obvious and the subtle changes.  How many changes did you notice?  Would you agree you survived all these changes?  You do this every day!  Basically you expect the day to appear and night to come.  You expect certain… people to be in your life.  You expect to go to work, stay home, shop, eat, look for a job etc.  It is when the unexpected changes emerge that you may have some challenges.  You may actually come unglued with surprise changes!  Changes that occur with disasters or things you do not want in your life.  How can you better handle these surprise changes?

First, BREATHE!!!  Second, say, “I am calm and relaxed.”  Third, accept the feelings you are experiencing.  PAUSE.  Be patient and affirm what you want.  Understand that feelings are an important part of your everyday life.  With intact Self-Esteem you will handle the change with no distress.  As a result, you can establish new outcomes.

To help you with change in your life, repeat these affirmations three times a day and then watch what happens!

I am open and willing to change.
I am in the process of change.
I accept changes in my life.
