Staying disciplined

What is discipline?

In my opinion, discipline is doing things the right way, even though it would be easier and more convenient to do them the wrong way.

Discipline is hard to come by now a days.  The youth of today have so much technology at their disposal, that they never fully learned the hard way to do things.  They never had to go through a trial and error process that teaches you to do things the right way in the first place so you don’t have to give 3-4 attempts in the long run.

It seems to me that discipline has gradually faded slightly over the years.  People today easily give up on things they are working on and do not have the mental discipline and toughness to get through it.  Staying disciplined throughout your entire life is easier said than done.  It is something everyone should work at on a daily basis.

Every morning, we should remind ourselves to stay disciplined throughout the day.  If a problem arises, don’t take the easy way out.  Challenge yourself, stay determined, and work your hardest to correct the problem.  Your mental toughness and discipline will carry over to the people that work with you and the masses around you.

Stay focused.  Stay disciplined.  Stay determined.

Anyone else notice discipline slipping away in our culture?

What are your priorities?

Posted by: Bill | Comments (0)

People often will tell me that they believe that they have their priorities in order, but don’t really know for sure.

Most people have basic and broad priorities on their list.  These are sometime ineffective because being broad, they are hard to master and difficult to analyze how effective you are being.

Get specific with your priorities.  Really think about what is important in your life and what you value the most.  Once you have a detailed list, work on ways and different methods that will maximize your abilities that allow you to work on and keep your priorities in order.

It is important that we are specific with our priorities if we want to see significant change.

Do you have a detailed list of priorities?

Have you recently taken a look at what you value the most and spend the most time on?

What do you think you can take out of having a detailed list of priorities

Connecting the dots

Posted by: Bill | Comments (0)

Connecting the dots in life is difficult and elusive.

Recently, I was speaking with a young man who for some reason couldn’t get everything in his life in order.  Things weren’t “clicking” for him.  He had a decent job in a profession he loved and had a stable family.  On the outside, everything seemed normal and gave the appearance of things going smoothly.  On the inside, he felt rushed, disorganized, and inefficient.

Getting everything in order and running smoothly is a difficult task.  It is a lot easier said than done.  People will come close to getting everything in order, and then one small mistake or slip-up will set them back and progress will be reversed.

Everyday we need to try and connect the dots.  We need to be honest with ourselves and open to adjusting our life-styles.  Once everything is in order and “clicking” you will become a happier person and satisfied.  You will be more efficient and things will start to become easier.

Everyday we need to work on connecting the dots.  Everyday we need to fine tune our lifestyles.

Do you have any stories of people who seem to have everything going right for them but on the inside or displeased with how they are living?

Feel free to leave comments.
