Welcome to the Law of Consciousness. For more than 40 years, I have been researching the topic of Self-Esteem; How to get it for yourself and how you give it to others. I always knew there was a missing piece for me and in l976, I met L. S. Barksdale, a self-esteem expert, who helped me find it. His research discovered that value-judging kills our self esteem. Simply put, that was my missing piece! Through this understanding of value-judging and Barksdale’s Law of Consciousness, I found freedom and you can too!

Before we can successfully embark on this road to fulfillment, it is essential to be reasonably well integrated, whole and purposeful. If not, make it your number one priority to submit to this unfailing creative power. Therefore, when we approach our desires with single-mindedness, humility, reverence and love, the more perfect will be our results. It is most unlikely that we can achieve a desired consciousness if we are ridden with confusion and doubt, pride and over-weaning ego, insecurity, fear or guilt. Consequently, we need to look hard and fearlessly into our mental and emotional closets and drag anything we don’t like out into the open and face it squarely. We need to evaluate our inner feelings and reactions and take corrective action. For instance, if we have an unwarranted sense, unfulfilled duty or obligation for something we can do nothing about; such as a nagging guilt for our failure or our inability to alleviate a pressing social problem or world tension, we need to release these frustrations and guilt out into the open and dispel them through rational thinking and affirming actions.

It is of vital importance to tell no one of your decision to use this Law as it may arouse opposition and disbelief that will interfere with your own conviction and gradually erode your need and energy. Resolve to say a sincere thought to yourself whenever assailed with any doubts or adverse comments by refusing to give them a home in your consciousness. A note of importance-don’t neglect to live fully in the present. Conduct your current activities and follow through on all your ideas and inner urges while transforming yourself to your desired future. This will give you a satisfying sense of self-esteem in having done your part toward earning your outcomes. Don’t be discouraged by an occasional slip or temporary loss of faith. Trust that this Law will not succeed if there is a detriment to another person and guilt will only interfere with establishing your required consciousness.

Soon you will see what your desired outcomes will do – when in balance, they will not directly interfere with another person’s dignity. Soon you’ll realize that abundance, well being and happiness are unlimited and you won’t need to worry about getting more than your share. You will find that your outcomes are usually realized. The miracle is that they are realized even though you may initially choose to charge it off to coincidence. It is therefore, vitally important to keep alert and expectant for new ideas and urges from both your inner voice and your environment. You will be surprised how simply and naturally your desires come through. Any desire of a physical nature needs to, of course, manifest to normal physical needs. For example, if you are working for more money, don’t expect it to materialize out of the thin air or appear on the doorstep one night while you are asleep. Instead, you will acquire it through normal channels, such as a new and better job or promotion or an unexpected raise, a gift or bequeath, or any of a thousand different and rational ways as you use your new skills. Therefore, whenever you get an urge or idea, follow it through to a logical conclusion without hesitation and whatever you do, keep your ego under control – don’t insist on your making a seed become a flower or dictating how that plant shall grow. For excessive ego inhibits the use of the Law of Consciousness.

It is highly desirable that you relax and surrender yourself to a higher power, to keep yourself open to inner-direction to the guidance of your inner-knower. If you are still concerned about exactly how this Law operates, consider again that you don’t have to understand the Law of Electricity in order to operate your light switch and dissipate the darkness. Just know that it can and does work all the time. It plays no favorites and remembers it is done to each according to his or her consciousness.
